National Black Theatre (NBT). Founded in 1968 by Dr. Barbara Ann Teer. Mission Statement: to produce transformational theatrical experiences that enhance African American cultural identity by telling authentic stories of the Black experience. NBT holds its archival records.
Status: In conversation with the Estate of Barbara Ann Teer about the status company’s records and Dr. Teer’s papers (NBT holds its archival records.) Collection size: 50 + boxes have been identified in total for both collections. For the past few months I have been facilitating a conversation with the Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture about the possibility of acquiring both collections.
